Andrew Yang
1997-2000: studied English Literature at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA
2000-2002: Taught English as a Second Language in Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong
2003-2013: MA / PhD program at University of Toronto, Canada in Multicultural Relations and Literature
2013: Studied Chinese as a Second Language in Taipei, Taiwan
2014: Joined UM-SJTU Joint Institute as Lecturer for Academic Writing
- Member of the Faculty Committee on Discipline since 2014
- Coordinator for Teaching Circle for the Center for Learning and Teaching Development, SJTU, 2014-2015
Recent Teaching Awards/Prizes:
2016: Rookie Teacher‘s Award Nominee, Shanghai JiaoTong University

报告内容简介：
As students become more globally aware and classrooms become more internationalized, diversity and inclusion have become more than an ethical “bonus” in classroom teaching. Today, diversity and inclusion are a necessity to remain competitive in an international educational environment and workforce.
Within the classroom, those who aim to promote diversity in the classroom face two challenges. The first is the need to acknowledge one‘s own experiences, perspectives, and identity as a classroom instructor. The second is to foster more inclusive language in the ways students interact with one another and their instructors. Amongst the multiple techniques available to address these issues, this workshop will focus on using of qualifying language, emphasizing subjectivity and indeterminate meaning, and encouraging narrative when communicating with students.
The workshop will be conducted in four parts:
1. The need for diversity
2. Terminology: diversity, inclusion, stereotype, gender, nationality, etc.
3. Language: Our Experiences and Assumptions
4. Language: Qualifying our Assumptions
5. Active Listening Techniques
By the end of the workshop, attendees will be more aware of the need for diversity and inclusion in the classroom, and will have several linguistic tools to promote such in their discourse.

吴国盛，男，1964年9月出生，湖北广济人。现任清华大学科学史系长聘教授，博士生导师，国务院学位委员会科学技术史学科评议组成员。曾任职于中国社会科学院哲学研究所（1986－1999），1997年被破格晋升为研究员；北京大学哲学系（1999-2016）教授、博士生导师。并曾担任中国科学技术史学会第七、八届副理事长。主要研究方向西方科学思想史、现象学科学哲学与技术哲学、科学传播。主要著作有《什么是科学》（2016）、《技术哲学讲演录》（2009）、《反思科学讲演录》（2004）、《让科学回归人文》（2003）、《自由的科学》（2002）、《追思自然》（1998）、《现代化之忧思》（1998）、《时间的观念》（1996）、《科学的历程》（1995）、《希腊空间概念》（1994）、《自然本体化之误》（1993）等。曾获得第六届中国青年科技奖（1998）、教育部高校优秀青年教师奖（2002），博士论文《技术与形而上学》获全国优秀博士论文（2001），著作《科学的历程》获中宣部“五个一工程”奖（1996）、北京市科学技术奖（2009），著作《时间的观念》获北京市哲学社会科学优秀成果一等奖（2008）。

井润田，上海交通大学安泰经济与管理学院教授、教育部青年长江学者。
李忠强，交大校友，现任德丰杰-龙脉基金合伙人，关注人工智能大数据金融科技医疗信息领域。曾先后任职于上海交大产业集团、汉世纪创投等投资机构，有多个项目海内外资本市场退出成功案例，包括香港创业板交大慧谷，创业板海隆软件、纳斯达克珠海炬力，以及精进电动、望海康信、东信时代、海泰医疗等。
