10月8日至14日，首届“南京国际美术展”（Nanjing International Art Festival）在南京顺利举办。此次展览面向全球公开甄选艺术家及作品，经过层层筛选与严格的学术评审，红门艺术家张朝晖先生的抽象水墨作品《光无限系列》在2万余件作品中脱颖而出，获得了银奖的殊荣。
张朝晖：祖籍河北肃宁，幼学习传统书画，中学时代在北京海淀区少年宫接受西式美术基础训练，1988年南开大学博物馆系毕业后在中国美术馆从事艺术收藏鉴赏工作。1995年开始在纽约巴德学院攻读当代艺术硕士学位，获得洛克菲勒基金会赞助在美国考察当代艺术，曾经在亚洲协会美术馆和Queens艺术博物馆工作。1999年回国后一直从事当代艺术研究和创作实践，曾经在中央美术学院攻读当代艺术博士学位。在全国以及世界各地的群/个展60多次。出版有画集，理论研究10余种。是中国少有的学者型当代艺术家。
Red Gate artist Zhang Zhaohui, who just had his solo exhibition "The Threads That Connect Us" in Red Gate, joined in Nanjing International Art Festival and won the Silver Prize for his series of ink painting Light Infinite, in Nanjing, October 8.
Zhang Zhaohui, whose family origin is in Hebei Province, was born in Beijing, 1965. Zhang studied traditional Chinese art during his childhood and started training in Western art skills during middle school. After he graduated from the Department of Museum Studies of Nankai University in 1988, Zhang contributed to museum art collections and appreciation in the National Museum of China formany years. In 1995, he set sail for studies in Bard College, New York for a masters degree. Afterwards, he gained the opportunity to study the world of contemporary art in the US, financially supported by the Rockefeller Foundation. He also worked for the Asian Society Museum and the Queens Museum. Since returning to China in 1999, Zhang has constantly been studying contemporary art and pursuing his own art practice. In 2006, he was awarded a doctoral degree of Contemporary Art from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. As a contemporary artist and scholar, Zhang Zhaohui has had more than sixty solo and group exhibitions around the world and has published about ten solo painting albums or academic studies.
