Black bear mother and cubs show up in Guangdong's nature reserve
With bright black fur and a “V” shaped on chest, Black bear is one of the second-class protected wild animals in China. They are the largest wild carnivores recorded by infrared cameras in Nanling.
"It is very rare to be able to shoot videos of mother and babies together. It shows that there is still a breeding population in the conservation area, and the ecological environment in Nanling continues to improve," a member from the Nanling National Nature Reserve Scientific Research Team said excitedly.
Since 2021, the research team has installed over 100 infrared cameras in the key areas of the Nature Reserve, and has monitored 53 species of terrestrial wild animals, including 20 species of animals and 33 species of birds. The monitoring images will provide strong technical support and scientific data for the formulation of normal wildlife conservation measures in Nanling.
