Prevent Your Child’s Temper Tantrums With These Expert Tips
Long before tempers flare or tears are shed, there is plenty parents can do to prevent conflict with their children. Such tips and insider knowledge were shared by a trio of experts at the first 2020 CISB Speakers Series event earlier this week.
Beijing United Family Shunyi Clinic Psychologist Dr. Johanna Teiser, Elliot’s Corner Psychologist Dr. Ru-Chi Yang, and Learning Frontier School Psychologist Tommy Surma each spoke, before answering questions from the 47 parents who eagerly gathered at CISB’s auditorium for the session.
Highlights from the event included:
Beijing United Family Shunyi Clinic Psychologist Dr. Johanna Teiser describing alternatives to punishment.
Learning Frontier School Psychologist Tommy Surma speaking about the importance of not “giving in” to misbehaving children during a tantrum.
Elliot’s Corner Psychologist Dr. Ru-Chi Yang discussing the importance of giving children choices and decisions.
