ART021 Announces the Exhibitor List for its 2022 Edition
From 2013 to 2021, ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair has been successfully held for nine years. 2022, the tenth edition of ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair will be held from 10 to 13 November 2022 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Together in ART021, and celebrate the art fair with the whole city!
ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair 10th anniversary edition will be held at Shanghai Exhibition Center from November 10 to 13. This year, the ART021 team will promote the art fair with 134 premier galleries from 19 countries and 36 cities.

With a mission of “Originating Locally, Serving Globally”. ART021 has been shouldering its social responsibilities with an open, explorative, and innovative perspective, also provides a global communication and trading platform for galleries, museums, art institutions, and collectors domestic and overseas. As one of the leading projects of the 4th Shanghai International Artwork Trade Week, ART021 will be the prelude of “Global Art in Shanghai Time”, bringing nearly 10,000 contemporary art masterpieces, accelerating the establishment of art industry scale, consolidating Shanghai as an international art trading center, and developing the “Shanghai Culture” brand.

2022 ART021 showcases an “eclectic and diverse” layout. The MAIN GALLERIES section presents 114 high quality galleries specialising in twenty-first century contemporary art, with 89 of the world's leading galleries returning and 25 top galleries exhibiting for the first time. Numerous world’s blue-chip galleries provide outstanding masterpieces for Asian art lovers and collectors. Some newcomers with high and strict standard will also introduce emerging artists’ works.

APPROACH section features 20 galleries, and the 11 emerging exhibitors are from China, Korea, Greece, France, Portugal, Germany, and Japan, meaning to support young galleries across the world.
BEYOND transcends the spatial limitation of traditional art-fair booths, which introduces 7 excellent public projects. In addition, PLATFORM online units, the participation of Special Projects, auctions, and non-profit institutions has opened up new possibilities for creating an artistic atmosphere.
Art without boundaries, a new decade resumes. 2022 ART021 once again joins hands with PORSCHE CHINA, DIOR, and Hennessy to represent a vibrant art field for art lovers, practice corporate social responsibility, and cultivate more art talents. We are pleased to announce the first artist poster for the 10th edition of ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair - Appearance of Crosses 2022-26, created by Chinese contemporary artist Ding Yi. Special thanks to SHANGHART GALLERY.
ABOUT ARTIST
Ding Yi (b. 1962), born and currently resides in Shanghai, is the pioneer of abstract art in China and plays a significant role in Chinese contemporary art. Ding Yi started to work on the "Appearance of Crosses " series in 1988. He transformed the character “+” and its variant "x" derived from industrial printing scale symbols into his artistic language, forming a complete aesthetic system. "Appearance" means to look. Went through the changes of times and inner conversion, the series experienced three stages, "eye-level", "looking down" and "looking up". The artist’s creation also expanded to diversified mediums such as sculpture, installation, architecture, etc.
