Do not give a wallet as a gift to others because that means you give your own money to others. The persons who give a wallet to friends, may along with bad luck, serious leak age of money or the money you lend cannot return in time.

It is cautious to send gifts relate to God of Wealth when a friend opens a store orstarts a business, otherwise the giver’s fortune may remain stagnant. The receiver needs to pay attention too, usually God should be welcomed from temple by receivers themselves in a formal way and cannot accept God as a gift from others.

Similarly, aquariums cannot freely send and receive. Furthermore, some people do not like to feed fishes at home.

Some people say that we cannot give a clock or a watch as a gift to others. Because “Zhong (钟)” has the same pronunciation to “Zhong (终)”, which means dead in Mandarin. Lots of corrupt officials exposed in public when they wear watches from bribers.

“Xie (鞋)” has the same pronunciation to “Xie (邪)”,which means evil in Mandarin. Sending a pair of shoes to others (exceptrelatives) is equal to send evil to others. Thus, we should avoid to use shoes as a gift in social life.

“San (伞)” has the same pronunciation to “San (散)”,which means departure in Mandarin. If you give an umbrella as a gift to your friend, it means your friend will leave you in the future.

“Li (梨 &李)” has the same pronunciation to “Li (离)”,which also means departure in Mandarin. It is a risk of departure in the future if you send pear or plum to others as a gift.

Candles are used to memorize the dead, so cannot use as a gift.

As some people say, evil things are easily to attach on stones and antiques. So stones or antiques are improper to use as gifts.

Pillow is a necessity for everyone. But sending pillow as a present to others that means your days of "Sleep without any anxiety" will decrease and troubles will come soon. Therefore, we should be cautious to use pillows as a gift.
