港中大（深圳）迎来18国交换生

随着新学期的到来，香港中文大学（深圳）喜迎来自全国25个省（市）、自治区的莘莘学子，同时也迎来了从世界18个国家汇聚到龙岗的国际交换生。根据学术交流处提供的数据，今年秋季共接收交换生92名，数量创历年新高，其中本科生84名，硕士研究生8名，来自与我校开展学生交换合作伙伴中的25所大学，包括英国华威大学、美国南卡罗莱纳大学、加拿大英属哥伦比亚大学、意大利博科尼大学、比利时鲁汶大学、法国斯特拉斯堡大学、瑞士圣加仑大学、德国多特蒙德工业大学、日本青山学院大学、韩国汉阳大学、新西兰奥克兰大学、丹麦哥本哈根商学院等等。

为了让交换生更快地适应学校的学习和生活，学校有关部门精心组织，安排他们参加学校开学季的各种活动，包括新生见面会、安全讲座和迎新晚宴，还根据国际交换生的特殊性，指导他们办理注册登记、入境体检和居留手续。

8月30日下午，学术交流处举办针对国际交换生的“入学说明会”，外事及学生事务副校长朱世平教授亲临现场和各位同学交流，他说：“香港中文大学（深圳）在短短几年间已经与世界各地90多所高校建立了实质性伙伴关系并开展156个合作项目，具有海外学习经历的在校生比例超过60%，是一所迅速崛起的国际化水平较高的大学。我们欢迎来自全球合作伙伴的交换生，相信你们会很快融入这个和睦的大家庭，希望你们和其他同学互学共进，加强交流，增进友谊。”同时，他还重点介绍了深圳这座“创新之都”，鼓励同学们在学习之余走出校园，去积极探索深圳，更好地了解中国。

目前，这批交换生已经进入各学院（研究院）开始专业学习，并入住各书院，和中国同学们一起体验港中大（深圳）优质的国际化教育。

It was my appreciation to all OAL team and CUHK-Shenzhen staffs for helps and contributions to all the events. I was the first exchange student from my university here in CUHK-Shenzhen, meaning, there was no supports or assistance from the other seniors from this program. So, I had to pioneer everything on my own. At first, I was so nervous about life and studying in China. It was out-of-comfort-zone experience that I needed to successfully overcome. However, with all the helps from CUHK-Shenzhen students and OAL team, everything was all done and set perfectly.

Before coming here, I had a set of perception that Shenzhen would be just a small city and there would not be any advancements. However, after a few days my mind was blown away by such developments and fast-paced technology in just this city alone. So that, my horizon was vastly broadened and I have created so much respect for China.

CUHK-Shenzhen was another level of a campus, it was so clean and organized equipped with the facilities and professional faculties and staffs that could help all the students and my exchange experience become more memorable.

The past few days have been a wonderful adventure. After arriving on campus we faced a registration process which sets us up for a life at CUHK-Shenzhen. The OAL team, the students we met during the process were very friendly and helpful. They supported us in every aspect and I felt very welcomed. 

Besides the support in the registration process, the OAL team has organised events to familiarise us with the campus, college, school and Chinese culture. It is exciting to live in a new culture with its own traditions and to have a new experience every day. I am looking forward to the next couple of months at CUHK-Shenzhen and I am thankful for all the effort the OAL team put into making our first few days in Shenzhen amazing.

When I arrived in CUHK-Shenzhen, I was very well received by the OAL team. I was assisted in all the administrative procedures following my arrival at the university and this saved me several headaches. Everyone at school has been very friendly and welcoming, most of the students speak English and are open to discussion and it is a real pleasure.

About Shenzhen in general, I am very happy to have chosen this city for my studies, everything is very modern and so practical.

Hi, I'm from Paris, France. I'm delighted to be part of this student exchange as I think that it's a once in a life time opportunity.

I'm glad to be at Shenzhen because it's a unique city that became one of the most advanced in term of technology and that in a very small amount of time.

Furthermore, CUHK-Shenzhen is an amazing school, you have everything you need in order to study and enjoy your life as a university student. It doesn't matter if you're Chinese, French or whatever, as long as you speak English you'll be fine. CUHK-Shenzhen has lots of highly qualified teachers with a strong background, two big libraries, many different sport facilities... In short, everything you need to achieve your goals.

I'm happy to be able to meet a totally different culture. Being able to share my thought, points of view, reasoning with many different people. It's an opportunity that I won't miss.

Finally, I'd like to thank the school, the staff and the volunteers for their warm welcome and involvement. They were always here when I needed help.
