Azerbaijan allows Israel touse its air bases near Iran border

A series of quiet political and military understandings have won Israel access to these air bases. For Israeli intelligence, there is also an added benefit from Azerbaijan: its significant cross-border contacts and trade with Iran’s large ethnic Azeri community. The completion of a $1.6 billion deal - to sell Israeli drones and anti-aircraft & missile defense systems to Azerbaijan, brings sophisticated Israeli technology to Iran’s doorstep.

U.S governors join fighting BDS movement

So far, 27 governors and D.C.mayor sign statement denouncing anti-Israel movement. "Governors across The U.S know very well the enormous value of the U.S.-Israel partnership in every sphere". Republican Texas Gov.Greg Abbott, Democratic New York Gov.Andrew Cuomo, and Democratic Connecticut Gov.Dannel Malloy were the first to sign the Governors United Against BDS statement, and are leading the bipartisan effort.

Good news for Alzheimer’s patients

Research team is led by Prof DanielM Michaelson from Tel Aviv University have successfully treated the defective gene ApoE4, responsible for 60% of patients with Alzheimer’s disease. This new form of treatment fixes the impaired gene that causes the illness - Thus, expected to have a major impact on the patient population.

Economic growth-rate revised again - up 4.3%

Israel's economy is performing better than all expectations, the Central Bureau of Statistics said Thursday, updating itsannualized growth projection for 2016 to 4.3%. Private consumption up 9.9%,public consumption up 8.6%, exports up 13.7%.

Elite counter terrorism unit awarded citation of excellence

The IDF's elite Duvdevan ("Cherry") counter terrorism unit has been awarded its third citation of excellence from the IDF chief of staff. Duvdevan unit which specializes in undercover urban warfare "leads the IDF and the country in the battle against terrorism". IDF praises unit's "stead fastness, courage and creativity in carrying out hundreds of operations to capture terrorists, most of its actions are unknown to the public".
