“Illusive Particles” pursues MadeIn Gallery's continuous focus on virtuality and reality, digital and aesthetic evolution, and responds to the accelerated “internetting” process of global lifestyle and daily order as a consequence of the COVID-19 epidemic. The experience’s fragmentation and granulation of the Internet, livestreaming, games and datalinks are increasingly renewing current experiences, visual aesthetics as well as generation and power structures. Virtual ecosystem is not an illusion, but an ultra-real reality experience. Starting from their own working media and perspectives, the seven artists switched and jumped, copied and pasted between the virtual and the real world, creating a new visual vocabulary which freely correlates the digital ecosystem and the ultra-real experience.
Cai Jian's painting involves pop art and popular culture, through repeated depictions of daily objects and cultural symbols, he expands his research on images and contemporary visuals. Feng Zhixuan specializes in exploring materials and using them creatively; behind the fabricated identity of a Wenzhou Islander, he uses accessible materials to create rich contemporary myths. Li Hanwei’s CG animations excel in adopting the forms of commercial advertisements and films as metaphors, his latest work collects visual experience from a large amount of consumer products, synthesized into an unknown creature with blurred boundaries, spreading and winding in a virtual landscape. Lu Boyu's practice often manifests itself in a concise form and incorporates anti-plot narrative to create direct emotional impacts. He questions the daily order with a rebellious attitude, repeatedly scrutinizing and exploring the real world. Lu Pingyuan concentrates his practice on the writing of "stories" as a unique type of media for art creation, expanding the position of art in the real world. His latest story explores issues within technology, nature, and ethics with a surreal approach. Wang Ziquan's works are rooted in his unique observation and understanding of the Internet and the virtual world. Through narrative computer imagery, he explores the threshold values between virtuality and reality, and uses 3D software to imitate the absurdity in the physical world. Zhong Wei's practice mainly takes form in immersive installations and paintings that speak to the current vibrant but chaotic Internet-based visual language, and through appropriations reflects on the Internet popular culture, collective psychology, and social phenomena.
About Cai Jian
Cai Jian, born in Chaozhou, Guangdong in 1993, graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2018, and currently lives and works between Guangzhou and Shanghai. Cai Jian's practice involves painting and installation, rooted in his interest in materials, subjects and the repetitive action in the process of painting, expanding to the research of pop art and pop culture. Through repeated depictions of daily objects and cultural symbols, Cai Jian explores materials, images and the contemporary visual culture.

About Feng Zhixuan
Feng Zhixuan, born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang in 1993, graduated from the China Academy of Art with a B.A. degree in Public Art in 2015 and from the Royal College of Art with an M.A. degree in Sculpture in 2018; a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, he currently works and lives between Shanghai and Beijing. Feng Zhixuan specializes in exploring materials and using them creatively, behind the fabricated identity of a Wenzhou Islander, Feng Zhixuan works in a global nomadic way. Using accessible contemporary materials to create rich myths, the artist describes his practice as "the design of monuments based on exoticism in the era of global localization”.

About Li Hanwei
Li Hanwei, born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province in 1994, graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts in 2018, and currently lives and works in Shanghai. Li’s practice adopts the forms of commercial advertisements and films as metaphors. Exploring various communication methods, the artist uses CG images to establish a worldview in the fictional world where counterfeit of the real world and science fiction coexist, as a way to present the intersection between contemporary culture forms and individual identities.

Li Hanwei also co-operates the online contemporary art space Slime Engine with Liu Shuzhen, Fang Yang and Shan Liang since 2017. Li Hanwei has been involved in the conception and production of several exhibitions for Slime Engine.
Lu Boyu, born in 1991 in Liaoning, China, graduated from the Visual Communication Department of the Dalian Industrial University in 2014, and currently lives and works in Shanghai. Lu’s practice often manifests itself in a concise form and incorporates anti-plot narrative to create direct emotional impacts. He questions the daily order with a rebellious attitude, so as to repeatedly scrutinize and explore the reality of the world, these continuous analyses are reflected through the composure of his works.

About Lu Pingyuan
Lu Pingyuan, born in 1984 in Zhejiang province, China, lives and works in Shanghai. Lu’ s artworks involve a variety of media, including texts, installations, videos, paintings and others. For a few years, Lu concentrated his practice on the writing of “stories” as a unique type of media for art creation. These short “stories” significantly broaden the artworks’ state of existence in the real world, while extending the inherent spirit of art itself. His works have been exhibited extensively in both national and international museums and biennales.

About Wang Ziquan
Wang Ziquan, born in Shenyang, Liaoning in 1993, currently lives and works between Hangzhou and Shanghai. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a B.A. degree in sculpture in 2017 and from the Royal College of Art with an M.A. degree in 2019. Wang’s practice is rooted in his unique observation and understanding of the Internet and the virtual world, exploring the threshold values between virtuality and reality, and using 3D software to imitate the absurdity in the physical world. By using narrative computer images, he copies and pastes between virtual and real spaces.

About Zhong Wei
Zhong Wei, born in Beijing, China in 1987, currently works and lives in Beijing. Zhong’s practice takes form in immersive installations and paintings that speak to China's vibrant but chaotic Internet-based visual language. Having compiled a massive database of memes and imagery found online, Zhong uses these ubiquitous images as raw materials for his works. After arranging these materials in countless arrays and variations using computer, the artist builds digital sketches before painting them on canvas. Zhong responds through appropriation to the Internet popular culture, collective psychology, and social phenomena. Data and composite images removed from their context are intertwined on the canvas, presenting the virtual world's unique ecosystem and visual experience.
Zhong Wei held a solo exhibition "易变░耦态 :NeメT Levé し" at de Sarthe Gallery, Hong Kong in 2019, and participated to the group show "Contemporary Showing Off" at de Sarthe Gallery, Hong Kong in 2020. Zhong Wei will also present a new installation project at PLATE Space in Beijing in 2020. His works are included in permanent collections among which: JP Morgan Chase Art Collection.
