Editors wanted for Time Out Family!

We're looking for two driven and experienced editors to join our team and help grow our family publication. Since its launch in 2014, Time Out Beijing Family has established itself as an essential companion to family life in the capital, and we are looking to build a strong team to continue this work in creating the quarterly magazine, as well as expanding the brand’s presence across multiple digital platforms.


Editor, Time Out Beijing Family

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the production of Time Out Beijing Family's quarterly magazine.

- Create long-term content plans for Time Out Beijing Family across all digital platforms.

- Manage and coordinate a team of editors, interns and contributors to ensure regular content output.

- Represent Time Out Beijing Family at events, sales meetings and other functions.

- Liaise with the Editorial Director and the Time Out Beijing team to maximise collaboration with the parent publication.


Requirements:

- At least 2 years' experience in editorial, journalism or, ideally, print media positions.

- Strong writing ability and sharp editing skills.

- Previous experience in managing and leading a small team.

- A solid understanding of family life in Beijing, particularly with regard to international schools and hospitals.

- Complete native-level fluency in written and spoken English; Mandarin skills are not a requirement of this position, but will be beneficial.

- Previous experience with InDesign will also be a plus.


This is a full-time in-house position, though allowances may be made for the right candidate.


Staff writer & Social media editor, Time Out Beijing Family

Responsibilities:

- Create and update content for Time Out Beijing Family's website, including regular blog posts and other family-focused features.

- Oversee timeoutbeijing.com/family, and ensure its section pages are kept fresh and up-to-date.

- Manage all Time Out Beijing Family social media channels, including WeChat, Facebook and the weekly newsletter.


Requirements:

- At least one year's experience in editorial, media or journalism positions.

- Strong writing ability and sharp editing skills.

- Ability to meet content targets and work to tight deadlines.

- Familiarity with SEO and experience with analytics.

- A solid understanding of family life in Beijing, particularly with regard to international schools and hospitals.

- Complete native-level fluency in written and spoken English; Mandarin skills are not a requirement of this position, but will be beneficial.


This is a full-time in-house position.
