For: Children 7-17 years old 

What: That's Mandarin is a well-established cultural center with 13 years of experience in teaching Chinese to learners of all Mandarin levels. This year's Chinese winter camp will run for two weeks from Mondays thru Fridays, from Monday 17 to Friday 28. 


Two types of classes:

1. Class-only camp:

Content: Chinese lessons for children interested in Chinese language immersion

Time: 1-4pm, Mondays thru Fridays

Price: 6,000RMB

2. Day camp:

Content: Chinese lessons, cultural activities, field trips, lunch. Great for kids who are interested in both Chinese language and culture.

Time: 9/10am-4pm, Mondays thru Fridays

Atelier's 2018 Fablab Camps

For: Kids six and up

What: Atelier has prepared two Christmas holiday camps designed for students from six and up. One is inspired by the all-time-favorite movie, Star Wars and another one is inspired by the Wild West. For their Star Wars camp, students will design and build their own lightsabers. For their Wild West camp, children six to seven years old will learn to design, and build their own electric trains, experiment and create simple electrical circuits and more, while kids eight and up will learn how to create their own game through game programming using characters and ideas from the Wild West.

Mon 24-Fri 29 at Shunyi Campus (no class on Tue 25)

Camp 2: Exploration of the Wild West

Metalsmithing 101

For who: For students 12 and up

What: Encourage the kids to pierce, saw, and finish their way through metal brass and silver to create accessories for themselves or their loved ones. 

Dates: Wed 26-Fri 28, 10am-4pm

Fees: 1,888RMB


Sewing 101

For who: Kids 8 and up

What: Introduce the kids to the sewing machines and how to fully operate it independently with this Sewing 101 class. Students will also learn some basic troubleshooting and complete the program with a drawstring bag that will be designed and sewn by themselves.

Movie-Making

For who: Kids 8 and up

What: Using the tools and equipment that are available to low-budget film-makers, the Movie Making camp takes students filming and photographing on iPads, iPhones, and home cameras. Professional cameras and recording devices would be available for students to handle on set if the instructors observe that the student is qualified and responsible enough. Hands-on classes in directing, writing, editing, cinematography, and production demonstrate both the creative and technical demands of film-making.

Editing in iMovie

For who: Kids age 12 and up 

What: Kids learn the foundational tools of using iMovie in this camp and editing techniques to best create a coherent film that’s created by the movie making-camp of the previous week. Students are expected to bring in a laptop equipped with iMovie & at least 5 GB of available space on their hard-drive. Editing is not just about knowing how to use software, but having a good grasp of effective storytelling using visual and audio cues. Compelling stories not only have interesting content but are also delivered with the right balance of pacing as well as the element of drama and surprise. Students will edit a variety of clips from 'Behind the Scene' Footage as well as trailers and a short feature film.

Atelier's 2018 Christmas Art Camp!

For: kids five and up 

What: Atelier's team of teachers have created a series of creative, fun and adventurous workshops mixing art, architecture, painting, history, culture and art history, especially for kids. Discover Venice and its carnival, explore artistic revolutionary movement or step into the World of Native Americans. 

There will be three workshops: Der Blaue Reiter or The Blue Rider, A Journey to the World of Native Americans and Venice & its carnival. For each of the workshop, students will learn a variety of techniques including sketching, collaging, painting, diorama-making and more.

What: TheART Drama proudly presents their upcoming winter camp, where they offer children seven and up an opportunity to join some drama camps during the break which includes reading, writing, presentation and more.

This year, the classes focus on two plays: The Chronicles of Narnia and The Diamond as big as the Ritz. Participants will use drama pedagogy to demonstrate the art of poetry and fiction, which can help them engage in close reading of the literary texts and build their understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism

A multi-sports camp which includes martial arts, gymnastics, swimming, fencing and more where coaches can speak both English and Chinese.

There are two age groups: Group A (for children four to seven years old) and Group B (for children eight to twelve years old).

Ski Camp at Nanshan Ski Resort

What: Get your winter skis ready as Imagine China takes you to Chongli for a skiing adventure! Choose one of seven weeks to stay at a ski resort in Chongli with professional instructors and, depending on your package, transportation provided by Imagine China.
