For this review, we sent brothers Dante (15) and Nikolaus (17) Kang to Smash at 798. This interesting venue allows you to kit up, tool up and smash everything in sight – glass panes, plates, bottles, TVs, VCRs and more – all in the safety of a private room where no one will judge you. You can even BYO smashables.

What is the attraction about?
Nikolaus: The attraction is an activity that has you smash secondhand items that aren’t being used anymore or other recyclable items like glass bottles. You can use baseball bats, police batons, crowbars and other items the attraction may have for you to use while smashing.
Dante: It helps people get their stress out and recycle at the same time!

Items that you can take a bat to...

How big was it and was it crowded when you visited?
Nikolaus: The attraction was fairly big. It had two rooms for smashing, one for one or two people, and another for a group of more than two people.
Dante: The place wasn’t as big as I thought and wasn’t crowded. Each room had piles of smashed items and damaged walls.

How long did you spend there?

Nikolaus: I spent thirty minutes there.
Dante: We were given half an hour to smash three boxes of glass bottles, a humidifier and a keyboard and each took turns destroying something.

What was your favourite weapon of choice and what did you like smashing the most?

Nikolaus: I liked smashing the big wine bottles with a baseball bat.
Dante: There were so many weapons such as batons, crowbars and even a sledgehammer! My favourite though was a damaged spiked baseball bat.

A simple concept to master...

What did you like about it?

Nikolaus: I liked how I was able to relieve stress by smashing items while also helping recycle.
Dante: It’s really fun.

...and more satisfying in slo-mo

Would you recommend that your friends come here?
Nikolaus: Yes I would recommend that my friends come here.
Dante: Yes, and I hope they can find something bigger to destroy when they come!
