Kid's Eye View: Indoor skydiving at Flying Experience

TimeOutFamily 2020-11-16

It's time for take-off

If your kids have been feeling bored these past few weeks, then perhaps a literal change of view and even air quantity might be in order.

Hidden in plain sight in Shine Hills is the Flying Experience, an indoor skydiving centre for both kids and adults alike and the first venue in Beijing to offer flight training courses to the public. It's easy to pass it by unless you already have plans to go in, though right after entering and seeing the long lines you'll probably want to try it out yourselves. Especially since we have worked out a
massive 40% discount with them if you buy it before this Sunday 10 midnight. You can then use the voucher anytime within the next six months.

Guests will be lifted up to 30 metres high in the air by massive gusts of air but, thanks to the controlled environment, you're sure to have a safe landing. There are also several VR activities for the kids to try.

We invited Kamar Daley-Hylton on a Kids Eye View to try this up-lifting adventure.

What activities did you try out?I went skydiving, I did some simulators, then I went skydiving again.

How did it feel?It felt good! Weird, but good. And it was fun. Like I wanted to go at it again. It's my second time going to that place, so I've now gone skydiving three times actually.

How did you feel before sky diving?I felt a bit nervous but excited.

How long did you go sky diving? One minute each time. It was short but memorable.

What protective gear did you have to put on?They asked me to put on a helmet, earplugs, and a big suit. The suit was comfortable but everything else not so much. But I know they were very important to have because there's so much air in there.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! Is it something you would tell your friends about?Yes, because I think it will be a good experience for them and it would be good for the whole place. It would be good for field trips, birthdays, holidays and stuff.

Can you tell us about the F1 car and plane simulators? The F1 simulator was hard because I kept crashing. And every time I crashed there was a big bang. The other simulator was where you got to control a plane and I got to shoot things, so I like that one better than the car. I got to shoot at other planes.

So what was your favourite:The skydiving, the plane simulator then the F1 car. Then Starbucks!
