长沙早春植物之一

春假之前就盘算着去一趟长沙。比起北京，长沙算是很南的地方了，而且那里还有很多没见过面的爬山的朋友，他们可以做我的领路人，带我更好的去遇见那些美好的植物。

I planned to go to Changsha（Hunan province）before spring festival. It is of course more south than Beijing and there are some hiker friends that I have never met before, who can lead me to a better place to do botanic research.

终于在两周前决定好了要去长沙。机票比火车票贵一倍，时间点也不合适，于是决定做夜铺火车。买火车我是做足了功课。从两周前就开始天天刷票。很快就发现最合适的票总是提前3天放硬卧票，原因据说是京广铁路调整。

I made my final decision to Changsha two weeks ago. The flight price is twice of the train and the time is not suitable, so I decided to take the overnight train. I have done hard homework to buy the tickets that I began to check the tickets two weeks before. Soon after I found out that the hard sleep tickets are open to public three days before departure. The reason is said the railway from Beijing to Guangzhou is under adjustment.

幸运的是提前一周买到了去长沙的票。于是联系上长沙的朋友武林阿混推荐出走路线。考虑到堵车，他给我推荐了莲花镇的一条穿越线路。这条线路长20公里，上升800左右，不钻荆棘，完全符合我提出的要求。

Luckily I bought the ticket to Chang sha a week ago. Then I contacted Martial A Hun to recommend me a hiking route. Afraid of traffic, he recommended one hiking route in Lotus County,which is 20km long, 800m in elevation change, no need to going through hard shrubs. I was satisfied with this.

周四晚上打包好，周五早上带着去上班。这天特别忙，好在抓紧时间把该干的都干完了。

Packed on Thursday and brought my bag to work on Friday. It was a busy day but I managed to do everything urgent and important.

赶到车站后还有半个小时富裕，还吃了一个石锅拌饭。有意思的是此后48小时我这个南方人没有吃一粒米饭。

I arrived half an hour earlier and ate a Bibimbap. It is interesting that me, a southerner did not eat a single grain of rice in the following 48 hours.

上了火车后8点多就睡了，早上起来很清醒。精力很好。火车准时7点41到站。出站后按照阿混给的提示顺利找到车站。

Upon boarding the train , I went to bed at 8 pm and woke up conciously. The train arrived on time at 7:41. Following the instruction A Hun gave me , I found the bus station easily.

坐在公交车上看城市绿化。车行道两边是广玉兰，自行车道边是樟树。有意思的是这里的垂直绿化，竟然是金叶女贞和麦冬的组合。金叶女贞本身并不是藤本，因此做成垂直绿化是需要一定的垂直固定成本的。当我看到高架的桥柱上也是这么操作的很是耳目一新，我的家乡无锡的垂直绿化是很无趣的爬山虎，比起来真是小菜一碟。

On the bus, I observed the city greening. There are magnolia trees on both sides of the car way and camphor trees on those of the bike way. It is interesting  of the vertical greening that they use the mixture of golden privet and Lilyturf. Since none of them are vines, so it costs money to do that. They have done the same thing on the giant pillar of the high bridge,which impressed me a lot. In my hometown Wuxi, they always use the ivy as vertical greening,which is boring and a piece of cake.

9点半到达莲花镇。此次一同出走的有14人包括我。

Arrived at Lotus County at 9:30. There are 14 getaway people including me.

我们沿着镇的主街继续往西走，走了大概800米，就拐上了往北的村道。村两旁的油菜花都开了，很美。南北方的乡村差别最大之处在于水，这里的田地里总是像海绵一样，挤挤就滋出来水。这时候我注意到一种毛茛。

We walked along the main street to the west for about 800m and got on the village path to the north. The field mustard is in bloom,which made a beautiful view. The main difference between the countryside of the north and south is water. The field here is like sponge and if you squeeze it there will be water.At this moment I noticed a kind of buttercup flower.

毛茛的花总是5瓣，泛着光芒，因此光看花不容易识别到种，看看叶子也并没有什么印象。“石龙芮”忽然听有人说，我的心里很是好奇，对不认识植物的人来说，能一下子说出这个名字的人可并不容易。忽然转念一想，哦，今天同出走的还有湖南本地的走友鲁博士，他本科期间是读过植物学的。这天他也确实给我介绍了一些南方才有的科。

The buttercup flower always has same flower shape-5 shiny petals and not easy to recgonize down to species. I observed the leave and remembered nothing."Shi Long Rui"Someone said. I was curious because it was not easy to speak out this name if you did not know botany. It suddenly rang a bell that there was a local hiker Prof.Lu in this team who studied Botany during undergraduate studies. That day he indeed gave me some introductions of the local plant families.

关于这种毛茛，回来以后经过比较果实（石龙芮果实长圆柱形，猫爪草球形），叶形（石龙芮掌状深裂，猫爪草叶形多变）和花期（石龙芮5月，猫爪草3月），鉴定为猫爪草。它的名字说的是它的块根像猫爪。

桃花红了。也许是太久没有见到桃花了，总觉得这里的桃花比北方的要大许多。李花也开了，白色的满树。

About this buttercup, after the comparion of the fruit(Shi Long Rui in long cylinder shape and Mao Zhua Cao in ball-shape),leave(Shi Long Rui in palm and deep-lobbed and Mao Zhua Cao in various shape) and flowering period(Shi Long Rui in May and Mao Zhua Cao in March), it was recognized as Mao(Cat) Zhua（Claw）Cao(Herb). Its name is from that its stem tuber looks like a cat's claw.

堇菜也是春天的使者。首先见到的是七星莲，和之前见过的多种堇菜不一样的是，它的叶子是毛茸茸的。花倒是典型的堇菜的花，只是颜色有些许不同。

武林阿混是这次的带路人，不过他对植物的了解出乎了我的意料，一路告诉我各种典型的长沙植物，比如元宝草，本来我以为是俗名，结果发现是中文正式名。

Violet also shows the coming of Spring. I saw Qi Xing Lian at first. Different from other violets, its leave is slightly hairy. The flower is a typical violet except for the color. A Hun is the leader of this hike, however his knowledge of plants  surprised me. He told me all kinds of typical Chang sha plants, such as Yuan Bao Cao. Thought it to be a local name, it turned out to be the Chinese official name.

浩浩荡荡的队伍穿梭于田间小路，我时不时低头看看脚边的小花小草，印象最深分布最多的有天葵和通泉草，附地菜以及猫爪草。天葵是白色的小花，和一粒黄豆差不多大，通泉草是紫色的小花，和小拇指指甲盖差不多大，附地菜是紫色的小花，和一粒米差不多大，都很不起眼。

Our parade went past the countryside road, I looked down from time to time to see little flowers, the most widespread ones are Tian Kui, Tong Quan Cao,Fu di Cai and Mao Zhua Cao. Tian Kui is kind of small white flower, as big as a soybean; Tong Quan Cao, a purple flower, the size of a little finger nail; Fu Di Cai, as small as a grain of rice. All these are ignorant.

开始上山。有一个村里的老奶奶看见我们这么多人爬山，也想跟着我们一起，和我们爬了几步，阿混劝说我们爬到山的那边去，就不回来了，老奶奶才停下了脚步。这里开始出现一些没见过的乔木，比如胡颓子，比如油茶。胡颓子的种群只有少部分在开花了，大部分都结了果，但是果实还是生的，尝了一个酸而涩。幸运的是拍到照片里清晰地展示了刺生叶腋，而在所有分布在湖南的胡颓子属植物的描述里，只有宜昌胡颓子里有这样的描述。

Began to go up. A local grandma saw so many of us and got interested to join in. After a few steps, A Hun explained that we would not come back and persuaded her to stay here. There are some trees that I have never seen before such as a kind of Silverberry and Oil-seed camellia. Only a little population of the Silverberry is still in bloom and most of them are in fruit. I tastes one ,which is sour and astringent. Lucky enough I took a picture clearly showing the spur growing under the leave which only be described in Yichang Silverberry among the species distributing in Hu Nan.

林荫处的主要草本植被依然是悬钩子属的，具体到长沙这边见到的是山莓。白色的花总是低着头，好不容易拍到一张正脸。野鸦椿的果实已经熟透裂开，去年9月在阳朔见到时才刚结果。竹叶花椒黄色的小花正在开放。它的叶轴边缘有两列翅膀，正式的称为叫叶轴翅。

In the shade of trees,there is always a species of rasberry，specificly in Changsha, it is Shan Mei.It always puts head down that it is hard to take a portrait. Ye Ya chun, its fruit cracked out and in mature. Last September I saw the new fruit in Yangshuo. Zhu Ye Hua Jiao has small yellow flowers and there are wings on both sides of the rachis.

然后继续走着，在不起眼的地方遇到一株紫色的花，有点像丁香，又神似醉鱼草。我凑近闻一闻，没有闻到味道。乘车来莲花镇的路上也见到了这种花，虽然只是一闪而过，但我敢肯定是同一种。回来以后查这种植物的名字，但是既在丁香里面找不到，在醉鱼草里面也没有。后来我脑子里闪过是不是瑞香，结果发现是瑞香科的芫花。

Keep going and found out a purple flower shrub, like lilac or butterfly bush,

but I smelled closely and got nothing.It was seen on the way to Lotus county, though flashed away, I was confident to say they are the same species. Coming back, I looked through the Lilac and Butterfly bush and found nothing. Then I came up with Daphne and found it was called Yuan Hua.
