China: The High & Medium-Risk Areas | Real-Time

• With the ever changing policies and updating of high and medium-risk areas, its is important to stay up-to-date. Alipay, Baidu and 国家政务服务 have a handy function to check the updated information.

• Note that some of these tools are in Chinese, so you will most likely need the help of a Chinese friend to help translate the specific risk area information.

• Check out our guidelines down below:

 Alipay 

1) Download and open the Alipay app

2) Select the section that mentions the current cases

3) Select the green 'lightening' symbol

4) Find the guide to high and medium risk areas

Note: if your Alipay looks different, select the ‘more’ section (4 dots) on your homepage, and find the green 'lightening' symbol.

 Baidu/ Lubulai 

1) Visit www.lubulai.com (recommended on laptop)

2) Check out the overview of high and medium-risk areas, and zoom in the places for exact location.

1) Scan the QR cod above, or 

2) Go to the front page (click the 'house' symbol in the left upper corner)

3) Follow the instructions:

  Real-time travel restrictions updates + Health codes 

With the ever changing policies, updating of risk areas and recent travel restrictions, we currently would strongly advise NOT to travel anywhere. 

If you do so, click here to check the real-time COVID travel restrictions updates. Call the hotline (area code + 12345), airlines, hotels, airports, or train stations. We also recommend you to check with your hotel in advance, as some restrict foreigners, and others (especially in smaller cities) require a recent COVID test. Call, and then call again.

One of the most important tools for COVID tracing in China are definitely the various Health Codes, which often have to be shown at train stations, airports, malls, office buildings and shops around the city before entering premises. Click here for the Health Code guide of China's major cities.
