In 2019, Adele Adkins filed divorce proceedings with Simon Konecki, and after evaluating the most important relationship of her life, namely her relationship with herself, Adele wrote Easy on Me, writing about her previous tragic childhood experiences, she failed marriage, and what she had learned on this journey of her life, and once again found producer Greg Kirstein to collaborate with him. Through the song, Adele hopes to let go of the past so that her son can understand why his parents divorced and that he can still have a healthy and positive outlook on relationships.
The atmosphere of the lyrics of Easy on Me conveys the mood of no longer clinging after the death of love, corresponding to the days when Adele went through a divorce, in which there are confessions about her relationship with her ex-husband and shouting at her son, and the lyrics are heart-wrenching so that listeners can’t help themselves, leaving them with mixed feelings.
