WHAT'S NEW & ADJUSTED?
Well, let's have a review at first.
In China, foreign workers are classified into three categories: A for "top talent", B for "professional talent" and C for "unskilled workers", mostly foreign graduates.
Foreign workers are required to first obtain a work permit notification letter, then use the letter to get a "Z" visa, an employment visa issued to foreigners, and then finally apply for a work permit.
Starting from this week, local companies with B- and C-class foreign workers can apply for the following things online instead of submitting paper documents to authorities:
Work permit notification letter
Extension of work perits
Previously, online applications were only available for A-class foreign workers.
Specifc rules may be different in different regions. Shenzhen, for example, has extended the validity of the notification letter from 90 days to 5 months.
For those who apply for work permits for the first time, the application procedures remain unchanged. applicators or agents need to wear a surgical mask when handling in the office.
