这样的做法其实属于“非法丢弃垃圾”，那么，大型的废弃物品应往哪儿丢？

列治文市府实行的大件废物收集计划，规定居民可以在预先约定的时间，把废物放在屋外待收，每户居民每年最多可免费丢弃4件废物，包括家具、家用电器、烧烤炉及床垫等，回收废物按件计算，不限制废弃物的大小。物品回收可以透过电话预约，也可以在政府网站填写表格。

本拿比的大件废物收集，只服务本市的市民，一般接受床垫、沙发、炉头、冰箱等。要求先打电话报告要丢弃的物品，预约好收集时间、地点。公寓、城市屋的回收物品确保放在小区范围内，独立屋业主在路边收集的，不能将物品放在垃圾或绿色垃圾桶上，也不能放在街道上。
