种族歧视欺负到中餐头上来了？外国网友为此吵成一片

非华裔老板在纽约开了一家“干净的中餐”馆，推广不成反被网友指责带有种族主义色彩。

众所周知，中国美食征服了海内外美食家们的胃。就连美剧《生活大爆炸》里挑剔的Sheldon都要把每周六定为自己的“中餐日”。

瞄准了中餐如此受欢迎所能带来的商机，认证健康教练、博客红人Arielle Haspel开了一家名为Lucky Lee’s的中餐馆。餐厅设计风格非常小清新，摆到中国一定是小资打卡的好地方。

装修设计有格调，地段又好，但没想到开店还没有一周，这家中餐馆就因为推广上的翻车被卷入了巨大的争议。

争议源于中餐馆的老板使用的语言将经典美式中餐贬低为油腻和不健康的。Arielle Haspel告诉美食餐厅网站Eater：她想提供一个改良后的、“干净”的典型中式菜单版本，即不含麸质和精制糖、“少油”的食物。

她还在一条已删除的Instagram帖子上的宣传语中提到：

“We heard you're obsessed with lo mein but rarely eat it," she said in a 

now deleted Instagram post. "You said it makes you feel bloated and icky the next day? Well, wait until you slurp up our HIGH lo mein. Not too oily. Or salty.”

“我们听说你对捞面着迷但很少吃它，”她在一篇已删除的 Instagram帖子中提到。“你说它让你第二天感到浮肿和恶心？那好，等到你把我们的HIGH捞面吞下去。不会太油。也不会太咸。”

批评者们对餐馆的推广方式感到非常不满，认为这会让大家都觉得中餐是不健康的，并且利用了对美食的种族主义信仰。同时还有人发现店名Lucky Lee’s中的Lee指的是店主的老公，而他不是华裔，认为这误导人们相信这是一家中国人开的正宗中国餐馆。

对餐厅的批评者和理解者站成了两派：

我无法支持Lucky Lee's餐馆，这家某位健康白人博主在纽约新开的“干净的中餐馆”。她的博客总是谈论“中国食物经常被浸泡在棕色的酱汁里”而且使你的眼睛浮肿。女士，你在说啥？

美式中餐是中国移民不得不将他们特有的美食传统同质化以生存的时代下的产物。她蔑视的这种食物是那些排斥和斗争后的遗物。这是侮辱且剥削的。

无谷蛋白不会自动意味着吃着更健康。话出一位真正麸质不耐受的人。

为什么人们发现尊重其他文化这么**的难？

但她没有在做什么错事。她想要开一家致力于让你感觉不错又健康的供应美式中餐的餐馆。这做错了什么并且这和其他建立一个吃健康食品，无论是中国食物，法国食物，美国食物，墨西哥食物的餐厅有什么区别？

哇哦。你们这得有多邪恶才会去诋毁这样一个人？她明显是在谈论一种比外卖更干净的就餐选择，外卖的确很咸很油腻。这一整代都在谈论健康的替代选择，而她就是利用那一点赚钱。那又怎样？几乎每一道中餐外卖都不是你会在第八大道上买到的真正的中国食物。它是美式中餐。她没有挪用任何东西。这里是美国，一个传统上你把你的文化带来，然后它变成美国文化结构一部分的地方。

在争议之后，店主删除了大量Instagram帖子，并发文表示：

“We were never trying to do something against the Chinese community,” she said. “We thought we were complementing an incredibly important cuisine, in a way that would cater to people that had certain dietary requirements. Shame on us for not being smarter about cultural sensitivities.”

“我们从没要尝试做一些反对华人社区的事，”她说。“我们以为我们在补充一种极其重要的菜肴，以一种迎合有特定饮食需求的人的方式。对文化敏感性不够聪明让我们感到羞耻。”

由餐馆宣传牵扯出来的食物种族歧视之争并非空穴来风：

Chinese food has long faced stereotypes of being too greasy, salty, and unhealthy, often in ways rooted in old racist stereotypes that have persisted to modern times.

中餐长久以来被诟病太油腻，太咸和不健康，其根源往往是一直延续到现代的根深蒂固的旧种族主义刻板印象。

In 2016, restaurant review site Infatuation was criticized when a writer declared that it's "rare you find a hip, cool, fun Chinese restaurant free of meat sweats and MSG." (MSG — which has long been accused of causing headaches, heart palpitations, and other adverse symptoms — is “generally recognized as safe” by the FDA, which has "never able to confirm that the MSG caused the reported effects.")

2016年，餐饮评论网站Infatuation受到了批评，一位作家写道：“你很难找到一家时尚、酷、有趣、不含肉汗和味精的中餐馆。”(味精——长期以来被指责会导致头痛、心悸和其他不良症状——但FDA“普遍认为它是安全的”，它“从未能够证实味精造成了报道中的影响”。

Studies have shown that people are more likely to blame the cause of food poisoning on non-European food, even though the likelihood of getting sick from Chinese food is no higher than that from the French.

历史学家 Ian Mosby也提到：

“Because Chinese food reflected certain longstanding fears and curiosities about an exoticised ‘orient’ in the American popular consciousness, the assumption that the use of MSG in Chinese food was somehow less safe than when used in other food products went largely unchallenged in most of the scientific and medical literature examining the condition,” Mosby wrote.
