看小黄片的碳排放，比法国家庭一年碳排放都高！

在提倡节能环保的今天，人们都越来越注意自己的碳足迹。但是有一项“活动”的碳排放量，可能比你想的多得多得多……

就是……看小电影……

一个新的研究表明，看在线小电影，一年可以排放一亿吨的二氧化碳。

The report found that a third of all videos viewed online are porn, and that watching online adult entertainment emits just under 100 million tons of CO2 emissions. The emissions generated in 2018 were of the same “magnitude as that of the residential sector in France,” the report found. 

这个报告发现人们在网上看的视频，有三分之一都是不可描述的小电影。人们看这些小电影消耗的能源，约有一亿吨二氧化碳的碳排放量。2018年小电影的碳排放量甚至赶上了当年法国家庭碳排放的总和。

其实互联网的碳足迹主要来数据服务器消耗的能源，其中视频数据消耗的能源占到大头。

The largest share of that growth is now video traffic: 80% of all data transferred online is video data, with nearly 60% of that being online video.

视频数据是物联网碳足迹增长最快的部分：网络上80%的数据都是视频数据，其中60%是在线视频。

The higher a video's resolution, the more data that's required. Ten hours of high-definition film consumes more bits and bytes than all the English-language articles in Wikipedia put together, according to The Shift Project.

视频的分辨率越高，就需要更多数据。一部10小时高清电影消耗的数据，比维基百科上所有英文文章的比特和字节加起来还要多。

In 2018, online video traffic was responsible for more than 300 million tons of CO2, equivalent to what a country the size of Spain releases in a year. 

在2018年在线视频的碳排放量超过3亿吨二氧化碳，约等于西班牙这样规模的国家，一整年的排放量。

I fail to see any link between watching porno movies and carbon dioxide emissions, unless global warming is in some way related to increased perspiration and farting... sex is, after all, always a sweaty, dirty, messy business.

我不觉得看小电影和二氧化碳排放有什么关系。除非你告诉我，出汗和放屁也能导致全球变暖……床上运动毕竟是一项让你出汗、凌乱的的运动……
