香港科技大学(广州)功能枢纽先进材料学域正面向全球招聘教授、副教授和助理教授。


一、招聘要求:

1. 具有博士学位,且满足以下条件之一:

  • 助理教授:具有科研工作与教学指导能力,发展潜力大。

  • 副教授:具有独立从事科学研究工作能力,具有学生教学及指导能力与经验。

  • 教授:具有世界一流的学术成就,引领学科发展,承担高水平教学工作。


2. 主要研究方向(包括但不限于):功能高分子材料,基于波的超材料,生物工程和生物医学材料,高性能热电材料,智能功能材料,电子材料,新材料开发等。

功能枢纽的四个学域包括先进材料、地球与海洋大气科学、微电子以及可持续能源与环境。其中,先进材料学域旨在推动与新材料息息相关的前沿科学研究,探索并建立各种材料的微观结构与属性的本构关系,深化与拓展先进材料。基于港科大在工学院及理学院建立的发展与积淀,本课程团队与相关院系合作,提供先进材料的哲学硕士及哲学博士课程,夯实在新型材料领域研究的国际影响力。

HKUST is a leading international university ranked 1st by Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2020 and 27th by QS World University Rankings 2021. The Guangzhou campus synergizes with and maintains the same academic standard as the Clear Water Bay campus. Advanced Materials (AMAT) Thrust is an academic department in the Guangzhou campus, and focuses on rigorously exploring the fundamental materials structure and property relationships and unlocking the potential of basic elements of natural sciences for conducting cutting-edge research for materials discovery and innovation. Its aim is to become a global leader in functional materials research and development.

 

Advanced Materials Thrust has multiple faculty positions with or without tenure at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor levels. Applicants should have a PhD degree and research focus in areas included but not limited to: functional polymer materials, Wave-based metamaterials, Bio-engineering and bio-medical materials, High performance thermoelectric materials, Smart functional materials, etc. 


  • Applicants of tenure-track Assistant Professorship should demonstrate strong research and teaching potentials.

  • Applicants of Associate Professorship should have a proven record in independent research, teaching, student supervision, and service.

  • Applicants of Professorship should have world-class academic achievements, international academic leadership, and an established track record in teaching, student supervision and funding.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

Salary is highly competitive of international standard and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Generous research funds, ample laboratory space and excellent research equipment and support will be provided.

 

All posts are Mainland China appointments to be offered by the HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local employment laws and regulations.  Appointment to Professor rank and some Associate Professor rank will be made on substantive basis while initial appointment to other faculty ranks will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years.
