Chinese Farmer Cycles Across The World To Attend Rio Olympics
This 60 year old farmer from Jiangsu Province, Chen Guanming, dubbed by some as the "Olympic madman" has made headlines once again after cycling his bike all the way to the Olympic Games in Rio.
Chen, who has previously cycled to both the Beijing and London Olympic Games, arrived in the city on Saturday 30th July and plans to spend 20 days there before heading off to cycle around Oceania.
Chen started his cycling journey in 2001 when he decided to cycle his way to different countries around the world before heading to the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Since then, he's racked up over 170,000 kilometers, shooting to fame in 2012 when a local Londoner found him in the middle of the city and started speaking to him in Mandarin discovering the details of his impressive Tour De World.
"Wherever the Olympics go, I go. This bike is my vehicle, but it is also the tent where I sleep," Chen said during a chat with reporters.
