Prima Ballerina Classes, Every Friday



Age 4-9. Prima Ballerina through the Royal Academy of Dance offers fun ballet classes for children! Every Friday they offer Pre-Primary, Primary and RAD Grade 2 classes.

Positive Discipline for Early Childhood Educators Workshop, Aug 28-29


Adults. This is a two-day interactive English certification workshop designed for early childhood educators, teachers, and caregivers of child 0-6 years old. Participants will learn the principles of positive discipline and how to apply them to groups of young children. This workshop also covers how young children learn, how to increase emotional learning, and how to apply this knowledge in a classroom or care setting. Participants will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Early Childhood Educator.

Great Wall Camping: See the Sunset and Sunrise from China's Great Wall, Aug 31 - Sept 1


Age varies depending on ability. Spend two days on the Great Wall, experience the Great Wall at sunset and sunrise, and camp overnight beside or in a Great Wall tower. This camping experience is organized by Cultural Exchange Trips (CET) who will provide camping equipment, transportation, and guides (an English speaking guide and local guide). The hiking portion is relatively easy but there are some steep sections.

Girl Scout Registration, Aug 24 - 30



Ages 4+. If your daughter would like to participate in the Girl Scouts, registration is coming up! The Beijing Girl Scouts Chapter is hosting an info session for their program at the International School of Beijing (ISB) on Aug 24 and Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) on Aug 31. The Girl Scouts team will also be recruiting leaders for newly forming troops and parent volunteers. USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) serves girls living overseas and girls attending American or international Schools. All girls with foreign (non-Chinese) passports can join and there are places available for kids from K-12.

Wheeled Robot: Robotics and English Summer School, Aug 26 - 30


 


Kids 12 - 18. Get the kids excited with first-hand experience of Tsinghua International School’s X-Lab robotic education program. 12- to 18-year-olds can participate in a number of courses taught by Tsinghua Robotics PhD Dr. Sotirios and the center's Robotics team. Students will learn about motion control by assembling their own wheeled robot. Participants will be able to add ultrasonic sensors to their robots, as well as a camera and an LED using ROS-Python-OpenCV to classify colors and detect target objects. Next, students will be able to add a robotic arm and spend some time reviewing the course.

Raised by a Single Mom, Aug 31



Adults. Join this speaker series as the children of single moms explore the challenges and joys of being raised by a single mom, and how their upbringing defied stereotypes. They'll be meeting at the Grand Concordia Hotel for a luncheon and this talk by the Appreciate Africa Society.

Safari Time Songs at The Bookworm, Every Sunday



Toddlers and Babies. Does your tot love to sing and dance? Does your baby get excited when she hears music? Bring them to the Bookworm for Safari Time Songs! All children love singing and rhymes. These classes will give your child a chance to learn simple songs from all around the world, have fun, and socialize. Hello Mars: 3D Digital Space Exhibition, Now - Aug 25



All ages. Have your kids ever talked about space? Are they interested learning more about all the wonder that exists above our heads? It’s time to take the kids on a walk through space at this educational and immersive exhibition about the planet Mars. There is a lot to explore at this exhibition, which is divided into 14 different sections where the kids can step into space and enjoy elements of surprise with extraterrestrial pop-ups and interactive projections. Chinese Summer Camp for Kids, Now - Aug 30



Ages 15 months to 5 years. Each week there are different topics for the classes, such as science, Chinese calligraphy, art, craft, music, and games. To improve children’s Chinese language skills, the teacher will speak Chinese during the class. From 3 years old children will also learn to read and write simple characters.

Picasso - Birth of a Genius,  Now - Sept 1



All ages. Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, (UCCA) is pleased to announce that Picasso – Birth of a Genius—the most significant exhibition of work by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) ever to take place in China—will be presented at UCCA between June 15 and September 1, 2019. The exhibition, which offers a comprehensive overview of the first three decades of Picasso’s career, is drawn from the collection of the Musée national Picasso-Paris. It includes 103 works in total, including paintings, sculptures, and works on paper.

The Beatles: Beat On, Now-Sep 15


All ages. The Beatles were a legendary rock group that formed in Liverpool, England, in 1960, and went on to transform popular music into a creative art form over the next decade. As one of the most popular bands of all time, they wrote songs like “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” “Penny Lane,” “With A Little Help From My Friends,” “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown),” “Day Tripper”, and “Come Together.” Apart from the music, the exhibition is also a panoramic look back into the Beatles’ golden era of the 60s.

Blue is a symbol of truth, like limpid water that can not hide anything. Blue is the echo of life, travel, and discoveries. The exhibition LOVE is BLUE is like the water that quenches, the blue has a small refreshing and pure side which allows us to find a certain inner calm related to the deep things.

Register for Atelier's 2019-2020 Program, Now - Sept 26




Ages 6 to Adults. Atelier Art School is offering 3 programs for the 2019-2020 semester in Art, Fablab, and Fashion. Atelier provides high-quality, signature art education from kids to adults. Join their Art program to improve your drawing skills or create to learn new skills. Fablab or digital fabrication laboratories was invented by MIT professor Neil Gershenfeld and is increasingly being used by schools as a platform for project-based, hands-on STEAM education. Finally, the ever popular Fashion classes, including sewing for adults, where adults learn to create beautiful outfits.

New Karate and Martial Arts Classes, Aug 18 - Dec 15
