Don’t Waste A Season Indoors: Sign Up for Summer Camps

After being stuck at home for the last three months, everyone is itching to get back out there and live their normal lives again. Although everyone should abide by quarantine rules and social distancing, that does not mean we have to completely forget about Summer.

For both you and your children’s sake, various Summer camps are set to launch. The following are sports camps for hiking, cooking, exercise, treasure hunts, art and lots more! Explore our list to find the best camp for your child.




The Hutong Summer Camps, upcoming holidays and weekends

The Hutong will be starting this year’s Summer holidays and weekends with a series of fun activities including hiking on the Wild Wall, Interactive Hunt Through History at key locations such as Summer Palace or Temple of Heaven, cooking classes in their Hutong Courtyard, Beijing Central Axis tours, Scavenger Hunts, their signature ‘Go Game’ and much more. Given the uncertainty surrounding Beijing’s return to “business as usual”, all event dates are currently TBD.

YMCE Camps, multiple dates between Jul 19 and Aug 29

Since 2016, YMCE (You Mei Camp Education) has offered camps in four different locations including Qiandao Lake, Shanghai, Beijing, and Yunnan, creating a series of American-style international camps. They boast over 40 activities, which are divided into five sections: sports activities, adventure activities, water activities, science activities, and cultural activities. While maintaining the original flavor of the American camp, they also pay homage to Chinese cultural elements.

The camps will be run in both Chinese and English. Age 7-15. RMB 9,800 per person per week (7 days and 6 nights), RMB19,800 per person per week (14 days and 13 nights).

  • Beijing camp: Olympic Water Park, Shunyi District

  • Shanghai camp: Sun Island Resort, Qingpu District

  • Qiandao Lake camp: Hangzhou Qiandao Lake

  • Yunnan camp: Fuxian Lake scenic spot, Kunming

DDC Academic Camps, multiple dates between Jun 22 and Aug 7

As an education institution that promotes courses in STEM, humanities, and arts for students in primary and secondary schools across China, DDC (Diligence and Delightful Learning Center) will offer your children a fun and active time during the Summer holidays with interdisciplinary camps. All camps feature small group sizes (8-18 students), with practical and scientific activities, hands-on practice, group discussions, and field trips. Additionally, all the camps are open to students in Grade 1 to 9.

  • Ordinary courses: RMB 18,600 for two weeks (weekends are not included), RMB25,600 for three weeks (weekends are not included).

  • Musical courses: RMB 26,600 for 3 weeks (weekends are not included).
