Summer is here! But before you throw away all your last season clothes and pull out your phone for some major retail therapy, we have a better idea: call up your friends and plan a group trip to Roundabout for a day of shopping, thrifting, and fun.

For those unfamiliar with Roundabout, it’s essentially Beijing’s Salvation Army. They collect clothing, shoes, toys, books, furniture, appliances, and more from families all over the city and house them in their giant warehouse. The entire program is run on a volunteer basis so the money you spend shopping at Roundabout gets donated to charities who provide aid to a wide range of people, including the elderly, children in orphanages and from poor families, mentally or physically challenged people and women from disadvantaged backgrounds all over China. So when you’re shopping, you’re actually doing charity work. Sounds like a win, win to us!

Just as Beijing’s social scene comes back to life, Roundabout has re-opened its doors with a slightly shortened hours of 10am-4:30pm. Their drivers have also returned back to work, ready to pick up the spoils of your latest decluttering spree at home. To arrange for a donation pick up anywhere in the city, call 137 1805 3814, and check out  their website here to learn more about their social impact and history.

The Roundabout warehouse is filled with hidden gems just waiting to be discovered, including the specially curated designer section, packed with new and vintage luxury pieces just waiting to be paraded around Beijing.

If you’re still adamant about staying home and doing your shopping online, Roundabout has recently launched a WeChat store, organized by categories and featuring a selection of their warehouse collection that can be mailed directly to your house.
