Beijing No. 55 High School International Students Section is a municipal key school, Beijing Model High School. In 1975, the school was designated as an open school by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Beijing Municipal Government. In 1994, the School International Student Department was approved by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) to become a member school. At present, the school has developed into a flagship international diploma school in the Asia Pacific region. At the same time, the school is also the HSK long-term test site for the Chinese Proficiency Test. The school has adopted the IB and Chinese National Curriculum for foreign students, and provides language remedial classes for students who need improvement in Chinese and English.
