She’Strong Launches a New Community for Beijing Women

There’s a new women’s group in town! If you’ve made your way around WeChat, you’re likely familiar with the names Camila Betin and Alessia Chizzoniti. Parents, educators, fitness coaches, and even budding bakers, Betin and Chizzoniti have a great sense of what local Beijing parents need for mind, body, and community.
“We both have been working with women for a while, on different levels,” says Chizzoniti. “At some point, we thought of creating Fit Bump (the pre- and postnatal health and fitness division of She’Strong), so we started. Something was still missing, so Camila came with the idea of getting broader, inclusive. We thought of calling all professionals who work with women under the same umbrella.”
The resulting organization, She’Strong, aims to serve as a sort of Yellow Pages for women. “In Beijing, you can find anything and nothing at the same time,” continues Chizzoniti, adding that it takes a lot of effort to ask for recommendations, find them, try them out, etc. She’Strong aims to serve as a resource you can access on WeChat, as well as a community where people will give you their honest answers. It will also host regular events, each focusing on a specific topic of womanhood. In the chat, the women-led organizations who join will be there not only to answer questions, but also to share content created specifically for the She’Strong community. As Chizzoniti proudly puts it, She’Strong “is a safe place, virtually and physically.”
At Jingkids International, we want very much to support these efforts since they align so well with our own mission as the number one media resource for expat families living in Beijing. We know that women need and deserve trusted places to help themselves and their families. We hope you will join us and She’Strong on Sunday, May 23 for their official launch!
You can also be part of the newly formed She’Strong WeChat community, where you can learn about future events dedicated to shining a light on women-owned and women-led businesses and activities around Beijing.
