Who doesn’t love a good jump scare in October? Me and most kids. Don’t get me wrong, I love Halloween itself. Great parties, delicious food, and an excuse to play dress up like you did when you were 8. But the whole "I’m going to frighten you so bad you can’t sleep" thing is not for me.

Having said that, I do love ghost tours. They are a really interesting way to view the history of a city through a different lens. For people like me, Bizarre Beijing is perfect. Not only do they organize traditional ghost tours of many of Beijing’s haunted sites but they also arrange scavenger hunts, haunted dinners, and even birthday parties. Here's an example of an upcoming walking tour they're doing this week -

Most of these events can have the fear factor adjusted, so for those of you who aren’t happy unless you are two seconds away from cardiac arrest, they got you covered. And for those of us (me and the other 3rd graders basically) who just want a cool story in a spooky setting, they can take care of that too. Just make sure you tell them you are looking for a tour for kids so they know where to set the scare-o-meter.

Check out other upcoming events on their WeChat by scanning the code below and if you don’t see anything that speaks to your spooky spirit, reach out and ask about a customized experience.
