Our expat community thrives on connection, and here at Jingkids, we’re all about our readers, what they need and want in order to maximize their time here in Beijing. Every Monday, we’re going to feature a prominent member of our expat community and get to know them a little bit better.
I’m Bruno and I was born in Brazil. I left home in 2006 to work as an international model, and in 2013 came to Beijing where I met my wife. We have a daughter named Alissa. In 2017 I begun teaching yoga classes, and this year I opened a yoga studio. Now I’m almost full time into wellness activities.
What's On Your Mind?
The thing ringing in my mind all the time now is the issue of my family not being able to return to China since October last year. Besides that, running the newly opened studio takes a lot of my thoughts. It is quite challenging, but at the same time exciting.
What Motivates You To Get Moving?
In my understanding, humans are capable of creating abundance in all senses (wisdom, health, happiness, material, relationships…) when they fully understand themselves and follow the laws of this life. From that start point, my deepest motivation is to become a fulfilled and fully expressive version of myself and live a meaningful life. And then, from understanding this process, help others to do the same. Besides that, what motivates me is my family and the wish to give to them a good life.
What Keeps You Sane In The Madness?
I have a daily practice of meditation and breathing exercises that helps to keep myself centered and present. Also, leading yoga, meditation, sound healing, and reiki classes requires a good amount of focus and presence and this all together is my safe port.
What's Your Favorite Thing About Beijing?
The incredible amount of interesting people and opportunities, and the safety that this city offers are indeed the things I value the most!
