The Softest Tissues You Didn't Know You Needed

I had the flu for almost two weeks. No, not Covid. Just the regular ol' boring flu... And what was my takeaway from the whole ordeal? Stock up on some super soft tissues because if you're already feeling like shit, there's no need to add a chaffed nose to the list.

Here's a list of tissues ranked just for you - that you don't think you need, until you do... Read on to find out how which are the softest tissues!

First off, forget the single-ply tissues that don't even warrant a brand. You might as well use toilet paper. Let's check out a few of the most popular tissue brands available in China with a ranking of their moisture level from 0 (generic) to 10 (super soft Puff's Plus Lotion tissues).

Vinda

They're as readily available in China as Kleenex is in the US. They're not as bad as the generic stuff since Vinda is usually multi-ply, but they're not that soft either. They're great to carry around for day-to-day use, but if you've got the flu and are blowing your nose countless times a day, these are going to take a toll on your skin. (5/10)

Face

It's multi-ply as well, but they pretty much feel the same as Vinda tissues. They're great for wiping your face once in a while, but not for when you're really sick. (4/10)

Scott

These are two-ply tissues that for some reason get a better reputation than Vinda - perhaps because maternity hospitals use them as well. They're not bad, but again, not great for a nose in need. (6/10)

PRO TIP: The secret to getting really soft tissues for a nose in need is searching for baby tissues 儿童纸巾 (Értóng zhǐjīn). These are as close to Puffs as you'll be able to easily find in China and when you're blowing your nose multiple times a day, you'll be thankful you stocked up on these.

BC Babycare

Babycare makes fantastic tissues along with wet and dry wipes and these are going to be as close to Puffs as you'll be able to easily find in China. If you find yourself in need of blowing your nose multiple times a day, these will be a lot easier on your skin. (8/10)

GoRou

This one is another baby issue brand that's pretty popular in China. While they're also great for when you've got the flu, from personal experience, I find that these leave more fluff than the Babycare ones. (7/10)
