BSB Shunyi’s Summer Fayre Is Back! Here’s How To Get Involved

We’re happy living our best lives in what can now be called the “post-Covid” days, and with summer right around the corner, this means outdoor events are back on!

Before Covid put a stop to our social lives, The British School of Beijing, Shunyi would host their annual Summer Fayre on campus. It’s a day of outdoor fun where families can enjoy great food and drinks from local vendors and play all sorts of fun family-friendly games. On top of the fun, BSB Shunyi adds a noble cause to it all by donating the proceeds to charity.

BSB Shunyi hasn’t hosted a Summer Fayre since 2019, but this year, they’re bringing it all back!

This year’s Summer Fayre will be held on Sat, Jun 3, from 11am to 3pm on campus at BSB Shunyi. This year’s Summer Fayre charity is Educating Girls of Rural China.

Educating Girls of Rural China (EGRC) is the brainchild of Ching Tien who herself used to be an under-privileged girl from rural China, but who was lucky enough to be given the chance for a new life. Since its founding, EGRC has educated and lifted hundreds of girls out of poverty through financial sponsorship and emotional support, as well as providing career advice and opportunities for graduates. By offering to cover tuition and living expenses for rural young women, EGRC gives them the biggest gift of all – education that opens doors to a new world and to opportunities that these girls would not have otherwise had.

EGRC believes that education is the key to changing the lives of young women and that educated women have educated children. It’s the key for whole communities to strive for better lives for themselves and their future generations.

To make the event the best that it can be, BSB Shunyi is looking for vendors to join and sponsor the event. Booth rental is RMB 800 for the day. It’s a great opportunity to introduce your business to the community.
