Taco Fest
May 20 - 21
The Beijinger's pioneer Taco Fest takes place this weekend from May 20 to 21 at the Tiantongyuan Culture and Arts Center (天通苑文化艺术中) and we're going to make it worth the travel up to Changping.
First of all, kids below 1.4m will enter for free both days before 2pm! We'll also have live music and salsa dancing onstage, which the kids are welcome to join. Plus, we've set up a ton of good old-fashioned carnival fun and games for families to enjoy.
Check them out below!
Courtesy of Guanto Family Sports Center, which operates a huge playground in Shunyi, we've got a bunch of free entertainment, from mini trampolines to ring toss games and free play building blocks to keep kids occupied while you scour our food vendors for the best tacos! For even more options, we've got an arcade set up where you can exchange cash for some coin tokens that will let you try your hand at darts, basketball, claw machines, and whack-a-mole game machines.
Don't forget to get the kids to help with collecting stamps and stickers for each taco that you buy to fill up your Taco Passport!
The first 50 people each day to fill out the passport will win a Rong Momo plushie, while the next 250 people to fill out a passport will win a taco-themed magnet.
Win Taco Fest merch when you fill out your Taco Passport!
At the same time, make sure to look out for our adorable Taco Fest mascot, Rong Momo! She’s a super cute type of salamander native to Mexico called the axolotl (pronounced ak-sul-lot-ul).
By the way, have you seen the whole range of Rong Momo stickers on WeChat? Check them out!
Early bird tickets are still available, starting at just RMB 20 (including a Taco Fest sombrero, which is valued at RMB 30), and the VIP Early Bird ticket that gives you the Taco Fest sombrero, bandana, eco-friendly tote bag and mascot is still available at RMB 120.
As promised, we’ve also got some FREE tickets to give away. Simply write in the comments below which restaurant in Beijing serves your favorite tacos and we'll randomly select 3 winners to each receive a pair of Taco Fest tickets!
