Have you ever wanted to be a mermaid? I know, random! But ever since I found out that you can actually make your fantasy a reality right here in Beijing, I've been asking myself, "Heck, why not?"

Believe it or not, there are actually two places in Beijing where your mer-dreams can come true.  But be warned: These dreams don't come cheap.

INFREE

自由潜水

Founded in 2017, INFREE’s main business has been training people in scuba diving and how to free dive. They’re a professional establishment with locations in various cities around China. They offer one-on-one training as well as group classes for those who want to get certified. For those who want to live their mermaid fantasies, they offer mermaid sessions that come with everything from tails to a professional photographer who’ll dive down with you.

A mermaid session with a professional photographer to capture some stunning images will cost you around RMB 3,000 and is available to those 18 years or older.

Find it:
2499, 18/F, Scientific Research Building, 13 Jiuxianqiao Lu
酒仙桥路13号科研楼十八层2499号
Tel: 186 6532 5876

DIVER WHO

美人鱼自由潜水学院

Similar to INFREE, DIVER WHO's main business is also free diving and scuba diving training, with the added benefit of mermaid sessions on the side. They offer a two-day mermaid training course where you learn to swim with your tail and graduate with stunning photos of you living your best life under the sea. This intensive mermaid training camp will cost you around RMB 3,399 for the whole thing. But if you're just looking to experience what it's like to swim like Ariel, there's a slightly cheaper version for RMB 599 where you get 1.5 hours of mermaid swimming time. This doesn't include stunning photos by a professional photographer, but if you're doing a mermaid girls experience, you can always put on a waterproof phone cover and take your own photos.

Find it:
Bldg 21, North Workers' Stadium Road
工人体育场北路21号楼

Pro Tip: Be sure to purchase your classes through Dianping or Douyin if you know how to use them. It'll be cheaper than buying directly at the store.
