25 Bands Enter Battle to Be Decided May 5

The stage is set for the International High School Battle of the Bands in Beijing, where 25 talented bands from 15 different schools are competing for a pile of prizes, all in the name of charity. 

The contest, which will take place on May 5, has attracted an unprecedented number of entries, showcasing the diversity and creativity of Beijing's young musicians.

From rock to pop to punk to metal to folk, the bands have demonstrated a wide range of musical genres and influences in their sample tracks, which were submitted online prior to the Mar 1 deadline. The following schools are represented in the contest:

What Happens Next?

The next step is evaluation by our panel of five music professionals. Our judges will preview their submitted samples and score each, and the highest-scoring bands will be invited to the competition, which takes place on the afternoon of Sunday, May 5 at .

Due to time and venue limitations, only 12 bands will be selected to compete – which means only the cream of the crop will make it to the stage.

At stake are a pile of prizes from sponsors, including a full-day professional songwriting course from Confident You; premium studio time from Brevity of Motion Sounds to professionally record one of their songs; a catered celebration party at Home Plate BBQ to enjoy with your bandmates, and of course, the honor of being named Beijing's best high school band!

Tickets will go on sale later this month, so stay tuned for more details. All the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Our Learning House, so you can rock out and make a difference at the same time.
