88-meter-tall Goddess of Beauty statue being built in Guizhou

An 88-meter-tall Goddess of Beauty is being built in Guizhou province, in an attempt to attract a few more tourists to the underdeveloped but exotic region.

The colossal statue of Yang'asha, a legendary beauty of the Miao ethnic group, is almost complete in Jianhe County.

Here's what it will look like when it's done:

Apart from terrifying glass walkways, there is nothing that Chinese tourism authorities like building more than an enormous statue or two. There's the Anhui Ironman:

And, of course, this badass statue of Guan Yu in Hubei:

But alas, not even a goddess of beauty can fill the place in our hearts left when the 37-meter-tall Golden Mega Mao was unceremoniously torn down in Henan last year.
