Woman playing with her phone falls down the stairs to her death

Cell phone addiction has claimed another life.

Last Thursday, a woman was walking down the stairs from a pedestrian overpass in the Anhui city of Suzhou with her head down and her mind focused on her phone. Unforunately, she appears to have missed a step. Surveillance camera footage shows her first stumbling and then tumbling down the stairway, before coming to hard stop on the pavement.

Afterward, the woman immediately lost consciouness with the fall causing serious injuries to her face and head. She was rushed to the hospital, but passed away the next morning.

Cell phone addiction continues to be a serious problem in China. Earlier this year, a 2-year-old boy managed to survive being run over by a driver busy talking on his cell phone in Fujian province. However, sometimes, Chinese cell phone users' single-minded fixation can lead to videos that are comedic rather than tragic.
