Jackie Chan's estranged daughter comes out as gay

The estranged daughter of Jackie Chan took to Instagram yesterday to officially tell the world that's she gay -- in case you didn't get the memo.

In her post on Thursday, 17-year-old Etta Ng, poses in front of a rainbow-colored background. The photo is captioned with a rainbow sticker and the tags: #lgbtqai #lgbt #lesbian #androgynous.

The majority of comments underneath Etta's posts are supportive with "Love is love" being the top choice. One commenter does write "You are an embarrassment to your father," but was clapped back by another commenter who responded: "You're an embarrassment to humanity."

Etta is currently reported to be living in Hong Kong in a rented flat with her girlfriend, Andi Autumn, a 30-year-old Canadian social media star with nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram, where she posts mostly pink pictures.

The two were spotted last month by paparazzi walking hand-in-hand and embracing on an escalator. Reportedly, they are inseparable, sharing meals and wearing matching clothes.

On the same day that Etta officially came out, Andi Autumn made a post on Instagram publicly declaring their love:

I've never met anyone like @stolenmilktea. She has given me a chance to fully express the running thoughts in my head.

No judgements, just understanding.

Everything was against us. We've been pushed down again and again but its worth it knowing we will get through it together, side by side. 🚺🚺💕 skip past all of the difficulties we've had this year, we are finally heading in the right direction, we have a path. We've encountered a lot of discrimination from family, friends, and the Hong Kong society. We are living in such an international city and yet so many people have their minds closed off. Etta is the daughter of Jackie Chan and former Hong Kong beauty queen Elaine Ng. Born in 1999, she was raised in Shanghai before moving to Hong Kong with her mother in 2011. She has never had a relationship with her father, calling him "just a stranger," in a 2015 interview.

However, Etta's relationship with her mother is also troubled. Last year, Ng was arrested by police after Etta accused her of child abuse. Later, Etta explained that she had reported her mother because she was worried about her drinking problem.

Then in March, the two made headlines again after Etta had her mother arrested again on suspicion of criminal intimidation following a dispute that allegedly started when Ng found a packet of sedatives in her daughter's room. Soon afterward, Etta ended up at a Hong Kong hospital following a suspected suicide attempt. 

After that incident, the mother and daughter apparently made up before falling out once again, causing Etta to move out to start living with her new girlfriend.

Jackie Chan has been married to Taiwanese actress Joan Lin since 1982 (after accidentally getting her pregnant). He has admitted that his affair with Ng was a mistake though adding that he had "only committed a fault that many men in the world commit." Ng decided to raise Etta on her own, and Chan has said that he doesn't plan to leave anything in his will to his daughter.

Back in 2013, Chan came out of the closet as well... in support of LGBT people in a public service announcement for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
