Chinese, foreign bikini models freeze their butts off in Sanya

Over the weekend, an "ice and snow world" in the tropical Chinese resort city of Sanya decided to promote itself by having some women in bikinis freeze their butts off.

The winter wonderland tourist attraction on the southern tip of Hainan island is home to a mini Scandinavian town, snowy scenery, and ice skating. Presumably, it's marketed to those who don't like to go to the beach.

To help in this effort, foreign models from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus were matched up against Chinese models to see who could last the longest inside an igloo where the temperature was a chilly minus 15 degrees Celsius. Surprisingly enough, Chinese models from southern Guangdong province managed to outlast their foreign peers, staying in the igloo for 32 seconds.

Unfortunately, there is no actual footage of this thrilling competition.

But don't feel too bad for the bikini models, they were reportedly given all the vodka they could drink.
