Cozy up with a heartwarming meal at Mandarin Oriental Pudong hotel this winter, as the modern French restaurant Fifty 8° Grill introduces its latest winter menu. Now available everyday, their dishes reflect chef Richard Ekkebus' commitment to the freshest seasonal ingredients, dedication to precise cooking techniques, and the belief of shared meals.


Created in conjunction with chef de cuisine Joshua Paris, Fifty 8° Grill's winter menu features ingredients and flavors that conjure up the season. For appetizers, there's the burrata with heirloom carrots; the root vegetable typically peaks around fall. Fowl is normally fattest when it's cold, and this brings richness to the winter duck salad with raspberries. Chestnuts appear when the temperature dips, and they join in a dish of seared scallops with pumpkin and red rice.


Pan roasted seabass with red prawns & sea vegetables


A main dish of venison short rib combines caramelized apples, brussels sprouts, and chestnuts together, while the steak remains a crowd favorite. At the same time, a pan-roasted seabass with red prawns and sea vegetables brings a lighter touch. For dessert, there's an apple and raisin crumble, or a mont blanc with blackcurrant and caramelized millefeuille.
