Well, Rick and Morty fans in the US, your prayers, petitions, and riots have been answered. McDonald's announced last week that they are bringing back their notorious Szechuan sauce.

McDonald's originally created the condiment in 1998 as tie-in with the Disney movie Mulan, and it was mentioned in April 2017 by the cartoon series Rick and Morty. Fans of the show then started a petition for the giant restaurant chain to bring it back, and McDonald's did in October that same year, launching a limited run in selected locations in the US.

Bedlam ensued. The sauce sold out almost immediately, and fans, some of whom were lining up since 4 a.m., protested, overran some restaurants, and even rioted
. Police had to be called to some locations.

McDonald's hopes to avoid a repeat of the incident with a roll-out of 20 million packets of the Szechuan sauce in every outlet across the US on February 26. But all this hype doesn't necessarily mean the dip is any good: food website Eater sampled a pack recently and called it "jaw achingly sweet" with "no heat."
