Six lunches you can have on Easter

Easter is a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, but many of its recognizable symbol have pagan roots. The Easter Bunny is a holdover from the festival of Eostre, a northern goddess whose symbol was a rabbit or hare, while hot cross buns stem from the ancient Israelites baking sweet pastries for an idol. Today, we co-opt these into a festival that feels like the happiest ever episode of “The Walking Dead.” To do that, here are six lunches to celebrate Zombie Jesus Day.

Online supermarket Fields is saving you the trouble of battling the Easter lunch crowd with hot meals delivered to your doorstep. For two to four people, there’s the boneless whole leg of lamb which is slowly roasted with rosemary, garlic, and mustard. Sides include a sautéed asparagus salad with sherry vinaigrette and mashed potatoes. If you have four to six folks, then get the honey glazed ham, which is brined and smoked for 10 days. Sides include couscous with mango and goat’s cheese, asparagus salad, and mashed potatoes. Don’t forget to leave some space for dessert: both menus come with a carrot cake.
