The owner of a Dongbei noodle shop in Haikou, the capital of China’s southernmost Hainan province, recently found that his beef stock had an unusual smell to it. Sensing foul play, he set up a surveillance camera inside of his restaurant and waited.

In the early morning hours of March 28th, that camera caught the owner of another Dongbei restaurant next door approaching a pot of beef soup, taking off the lid, and dropping something inside from a container.

He then pulls down his pants and takes a piss in the other pot.

Turns out, he dropped some excrement in the first pot. Pick your poison.

After investigation, local police said that the man was apparently jealous of the success of the neighboring restaurant and decided to take action, The Paper reports.

However, you don’t always have to be resentful to brew up some warm pee soup. Last year, a delivery guy in Chengdu was fired from his job after admitting to gulping down half of a customer’s soup and then filling the cup back up with his own piss.

“I didn’t have any grievances, I just couldn’t find any water,” the delivery guy said later.
