A male cab driver in Sichuan province has lost his taxi license and become a national pariah after video leaked online yesterday showing him pulling down a female passenger’s top for a look at her chest.

The incident occurred yesterday morning in the city of Leshan after the driver arrived at the woman’s place of work. As she hunted for some money for the fare, the driver told the woman, “You are very beautiful,” before suddenly reaching over to pull down her shirt.

The woman quickly reacted by pinning her shirt back in place and leaving the cab. As she gets out, the driver smiles at her.

Later on in the day, video of this incident started circulating around local WeChat groups in Leshan. Soon the clip went viral across the country.

That afternoon the city’s transportation bureau announced that the driver’s license had been suspended and a police investigation had been launched. A few hours later police said that the 43-year-old man surnamed He had been arrested and would remain in detention for 10 days.

This incident comes right after a 21-year-old woman was murdered by her Didi driver in Zhengzhou. Before being killed, the victim had sent messages to a friend describing the driver as acting like a pervert, telling her that she is beautiful and that he wants to her kiss her.

The friend urged the young woman to make an excuse and get out of the car, however, the woman insisted that she was fine. Unfortunately, that was the last time she was heard from. A few days later, police discovered her dead body, half-naked and with multiple stab wounds.

About a week after the murder took place, the driver’s body was also finally found in a nearby river.
