White guy kicks Chinese guy’s Audi R8 because it’s “too loud”

A Chinese actor revving his Audi R8 in San Francisco’s Bay Area had his car kicked by a white guy last week for being “too loud”, resulting in a street fight that was quickly broken up by passersby.

Nan Lin said he was just showing a friend what his car sounded like after some modifications on July 7 when he noticed a guy yelling “f*ck you” and flipping him the bird. “Already I knew he was probably pissed because of the exhaust sounds,” he told NextShark. “In my mind, him engaging me is OK since I may have caused him to be upset.”

At another crossing, the man appeared again to taunt him, asking if he was gay and if his male passenger was his girlfriend.

“I responded, ‘No, but if you keep talking I’ll end up making you my girlfriend.’ At this moment I noticed his daughter was walking alongside of him, and this guy is still acting out; now I’m verbalizing ‘Don’t be stupid in front of your daughter… don’t set that type of example… look at what you are doing in front of your child… it’s not worth it,’ etc.”

When the harrassment does not end, and the man continues to deliberately block his car with his child in hand, Nan Lin is sitting and laughing with his friend in the car about “how much of a dirtbag this guy is”, and then proceeds to yell at him, “Keep moving, you salty prick!”

The white guy then finally proceeds to make way, but decides to kick the car. As any new car owner would with a new toy, Nan Lin quickly got out of his car to check on it to see if he needed to press charges for vandalism.

“As I approached him, he extended his hand as if he was going to strike me, and instinct kicked in from that point forward,” he said.

As a mini-street fight ensues while the white guy’s Asian wife is screaming “STOP!” at the top of her lungs, another white passerby decides to break up the fight by doing a flying tackle on Nan Lin, leaving him incredulous.

“What the fuck did you kick me for?” he asked.

“I did not kick you,” the passerby responded. “You’re hitting a guy and it’s not worth it.”

“Oh, so you hit me!”

“I didn’t hit you, I tackled you.”

Responding to the now-viral video, commenters in the “Azn Identity” Reddit group had lots to say about the incident.

“Even though the white dude wasn’t being explicitly racist, he was definitely pissed to see a well groomed Asian with a nice car and felt that he could just mess with him without repercussions,” wrote one commenter.

“He gets lectured from the guy that fucking tackled him,” quipped another. “The level of disrespect is astounding.”

“Holy shit, this was a textbook example of what Asian guys have to deal with in the west,” said a third commenter.

Speaking to the Chinese press later (see video above), Nan Lin said, “If I were black, he totally wouldn’t have kicked my car.”
