Another marathon in China has been marred by shenanigans with one runner choosing to use a different form of transportation from her own feet.

During the Xuzhou International Marathon last weekend, the female runner was spotted using a bicycle. She finished with a time of 5 hours, 38 minutes, and 36 seconds.

The marathon’s organizing committee has announced that the “runner” has been disqualified and has received a lifetime ban.

Meanwhile, reports have got out about other strange happenings at the marathon including passersby looting boxes of bananas and water bottles placed along the route for runners, and even stealing desks and chairs that volunteers had set up for their own use.

This comes after two memorable marathon incidents late last year. In Shenzhen, 237 runners were caught taking a shortcut through some shrubbery, cutting two or three kilometers off their race, and three more were exposed as imposters who ran the race in someone’s else place.

While in Suzhou, a Chinese runner’s chance at victory was ruined by volunteers who threw off her rhythm by trying to hand her the Chinese national flag just ahead of the finish line.
