It's Xi Jinping's 66th birthday. Putin sends cake and ice cream.
Yesterday was Donald Trump’s birthday and everybody marked the day by celebrating Barack Obama and John McCain on Twiter.
Today is Chinese president Xi Jinping’s birthday and to mark this very special occasion, Russian BFF Vladmir Putin sent him a YUGE birthday cake that had the Chinese characters 六六大顺 (“Double Six Good Fortune”) on it, and some fantastic Russian ice cream.
The two are currently attending a regional summit in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
According to state media reports, President Xi returned the favor by gifting Putin with some Chinese tea, and also informed the Russian president that he was “very popular” in China.
It’s not clear if the president tasted any of that cake.
But anyway, long live Chinese-Russian friendship. Together, we’ll be one happy family forever and ever!
