All travelers from abroad to undergo nucleic acid testing
Shanghai is further stepping up its coronavirus screening with all travelers arriving at the airport from other countries now having to undergo nucleic acid testing.
The move comes as domestic transmissions of the Covid-19 virus have dropped all the way down to zero in China while imported cases continue to come in as overseas Chinese return home, fleeing virus outbreaks elsewhere.
Ten more imported cases were reported in Shanghai alone on Sunday with the infected travelers coming from Burkina Faso, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France.
Shanghai has already ordered that anyone arriving from 24 countries deemed badly hit by the coronavirus must undergo a two-week quarantine upon their arrival, either at home or in a designated hotel at their own expense.
