India and China, the rising Asian nations, emerging global players, have large populations and booming economies. They are probably the most important neighbors to each other. Their bilateral relation has an impact beyond their borders.
印中两国的文化交流可以追溯到公元前。公元前1500-公元前1000年，商周与吠陀文明之间便开启了语言文化交流。
India-China cultural exchanges date back many centuries. The conceptual and linguistic exchanges existed in 1500-1000 B.C. between the Shang-Zhou and Vedic civilizations.
1950年，印度与中国正式建立外交关系，是第一个与新中国建交的非社会主义国家。
India was the first non-socialist bloc country to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China in 1950.
中国是印度最大的贸易伙伴，其在印度注入了大约260亿的直接投资。印度的30家独角兽企业中有18家均得到过来自中国的财力支持。
China is India’s largest trading partner. There is an estimated 26 billion Chinese FDI in India. 18 out of 30 Indian unicorns are backed by Chinese investments.

There are roughly 800 Chinese companies and 20000 Chinese ex-pats in India. China is major source of some critical input for the Indian industry.

Chinese Apps are immensely popular in India, so are yoga and Bollywood films in China.
Some 23000 Indians are studying in China.

These numbers may look small given the size and potential of the two countries. But their importance and growth are rather impressive.

India and China have more than thirty dialogue mechanisms between them on political, economic, consular issues to discuss bilateral, regional, and international issues.

With all these engagements and exchanges, unfortunately, India China relation is mired with misinformation, misperception, and mistrust.
一度休眠的边界争端死灰复燃，印中两国的关系在近年来逐渐恶化，并于2020年6月爆发的加勒万流血事件降至冰点。
Once dormant border dispute has increasingly become a source of tensions. India-China relations have witnessed a downturn in recent years, reaching their lowest point during the bloody Galwan skirmish in June 2020.
