He focus on low carbon energy and environment (CCUS) and nano-petroleum science and technology (chemical engineering of oil and gas fields, oil and gas enhanced oil recovery).
Coordinated or participated in national major oil and gas projects, national key scientific and technological research and development plans, National High-tech Research and Development Plan "863", National Major Basic Research Plan "973", national scientific and technological support and other projects or topics in the above-mentioned fields; Coordinated or participated in provincial and ministerial projects from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Land and Resources, China Geological Survey, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Beijing municipality, together with projects from PetroChina and Sinopec, and worked with Central Europe,UK, -Australia and US on CCUS projects.
Organized the formulation of technical standards for ISO CCUS quantification and verification, and completed the ISO CCUS quantification and verification work report and ISO special report on carbon dioxide utilization.
Coordinated the formulation of "China CCUS White Paper" of OGCI; Helped formulate the CCUS Development Roadmap and CCUS technical assessment report of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) CCUS Development Path report.
