报告人简介：

 Werner Breitung教授为香港浸会大学林思齐东西学术交流研究所，教授，高级访问学者。生于德国，毕业于瑞士巴塞尔大学(Universityof Basel)获地理学博士学位。主要研究方向为城市规划与边界、香港与深圳的跨界联系与地方感构建等。曾主持国家自然科学基金面上项目、德国国家自然科学基金会优选项目(DFG)等国内外重大研究课题。在《Urban Geography》、《Environment and Planning A》、《EurasianGeography and Economics》、《Urban Studies》、《Habitat International》等城市规划国际期刊发表论文共60余篇，并为上述期刊的审稿人。

讲座内容：

Werner Breitung教授以其最近发表在《Journal of Heritage Tourism》的一篇文章内容为主体，从理论和实践两层面阐释苏州水网和路网的城市形态学视角分析。在理论上，分析了城市形态学方法在文化遗产发展中的作用；在实践上，指出城市形态学方法在历史文化遗产和旅游规划中的内涵和作用。

Basedon an urban morphology analysis of the double grid of streets and waterways inSuzhou (Jiangsu), Prof. Breitung argues that this grid is not just the settingfor the built heritage of Suzhou, but it should be viewed as heritage on itsown right. The lecture presents the features and historical development of thisurban grid to develop theoretical and practical arguments. The theoreticalargument is about the value of the urban morphology approach for heritagedevelopment. The practical argument points to implications for both heritageand tourism planning.
